This license covers the Unthrottled agent for Windows: the installer, the portable version and their updates. It's part of our Terms of Service, so by installing or using the agent, you agree to it.
What you may do
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the agent on computers you own or control, with your own Unthrottled account, for as long as you keep to this license and our Terms of Service.
What you may not do
- sell, rent, lend or sublicense the agent, or redistribute it or offer it for download anywhere else
- modify the agent, or use a modified copy, to send false, edited or manipulated data to Unthrottled
- remove or change its notices, including the notices for its third-party parts
- use it to get around Unthrottled's limits or security, or to reach accounts or data that aren't yours
These limits apply to the agent as a whole. They don't take away any right that a third-party part's own license gives you for that part (see Third-party components). In particular, for the parts licensed under the GNU LGPL, you may modify those parts for your own use and reverse-engineer the agent as far as needed to debug such modifications.
It only reads your hardware
The agent reads sensors. It never changes a hardware setting. It asks for administrator rights only when you choose something that needs them, and it installs the PawnIO driver only if you agree. Before you download it, the agent page sets out what it installs, when it asks for administrator rights and what it sends, and our Privacy Policy lists exactly what leaves your PC.
Updates
The installed version checks for updates when it starts and about every six hours while it's running, and installs them according to your settings: automatically when it starts, or when you choose Update now. The portable version doesn't update itself. Updates can add, change or remove features, and this license covers them too. Older versions may stop working with Unthrottled.
Ownership
The agent is licensed to you, not sold. We, and the developers of its third-party parts, keep every right that this license doesn't expressly give you.
Ending the license
You can end this license at any time by uninstalling the agent. It ends automatically if you break this license or our Terms of Service, or when your Unthrottled account is closed. When it ends, stop using the agent and uninstall it. Runs it saved on your PC are yours to keep. PawnIO, if you installed it, is a separate program that stays until you remove it from Windows Settings, under Apps, then Installed apps.
No warranty
To the extent permitted by law, the agent is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We don't promise that it will work on every PC, read every sensor correctly or run without errors. The Advice, risk and liability section of our Terms of Service applies to the agent too, including what it doesn't exclude or limit and the rights you have under consumer law that can't be waived.
Third-party components
The agent includes software made by other developers. Each part stays under its own license, which applies to that part instead of this one, and you can get its source code from the address listed.
